About the Internship
We are currently looking for a Comic Book Illustration Intern to join the Hermensvalid team, working remotely and reporting to Hermen Acheampong, the Creative Director. This role offers an incredible opportunity to be involved in a groundbreaking comic book project that will also showcase Hermensvalid’s unique fashion designs.
This internship focuses on two main areas: Illustration & Visual Design. The intern will assist in the creative process of bringing the comic book to life while learning about the fashion industry’s intersection with storytelling. You’ll be part of a dynamic and creative team that values innovation and collaboration.
Internship Responsibilities
ILLUSTRATION & DESIGN:
Collaborate with the Creative Director on all aspects of the comic book's visual development, from initial concept sketches to final artwork.
Provide input on character and costume designs, ensuring they align with Hermensvalid’s fashion brand.
Research and gather inspiration to help create visually compelling and original artwork.
Support the creation of storyboards, page layouts, and color palettes that drive the narrative forward.
Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, offering fresh ideas and perspectives.
VISUAL STORYTELLING:
Assist in shaping the aesthetic direction of the comic book, ensuring that Hermensvalid’s clothing designs are prominently and effectively featured.
Work closely with the team to integrate fashion elements into the story in a way that enhances both the narrative and the brand's identity.
Contribute to the development of marketing materials that highlight the comic book and the fashion featured within it.
Profile
Pursuing or holding a degree in Illustration, Visual Arts, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
A strong passion for storytelling, fashion, and design, with a keen interest in how these elements intersect.
Proficiency in illustration software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.
Excellent organizational skills, with a strong eye for detail.
Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive, flexible, and eager to contribute creatively.
Additional Information
Start Date: Internship starting in OCTOBER for a duration of 15 WEEKS.
Location: Remote, with regular virtual meetings and check-ins with the Creative Director.
Credits: This internship offers college credit opportunities in partnership with your institution.
